It has been busy busy busy for re-homing at HWAR in the last
few weeks with lots of dogs being re-homed directly and indirectly through HWAR
and this week has been no exception.
Dogs going or have gone out
Roger who came in as a duo with his brother Rags was
re-homed this week. We took the decision to split Rags & Roger up as both dogs
were seeming happier apart. Two sweet little boys, Roger has gone off to his
new home and now Rags is waiting patiently for his furever home.
Little Archie the Chihuahua x that came to us a stray has
taken up residency at his foster home! An adorable little character it turned
out he and his foster mum were too well matched to part.
Another Archie, the gorgeous Bedlington x Whippet Lurcher
who many were fond of, found his home quickly after spending only a few days at
HWAR after going into foster and then quickly into a new home.
We are ecstatic this week to say Barney has found a home. He
has gone to a wonderful home who have re-homed from HWAR before and having
settled in just lovely, he will be a very happy boy now he is out of kennels, have a great life Barney!
The last two puppies of the Husky x GSD litter, Tippy and
Blade, have found their new homes this week. Tippy saw her sister go to a new
home last week but not long waiting behind and Blade has also been taken on
into a new home. A beautiful litter of pups they will be wonderful family dogs.
Also re-homed through re-home from home, was the beautiful
Angel a 6yo Collie x Lab and a lovely spaniel called Fergie who is picture-less!
New intakes
Wee little Max the Border Terrier came into HWAR this week, only
a baby he is one year old a couple of days ago, sadly little other details. An
enthusiastic young boy he is still a complete puppy at heart. Max has already been reserved and will be off to a new home shortly.
Lucky is a wonderful young male Lurcher who has a beautiful
temperament, he is desperate for affection, very loving and just wants someone to fuss over him. He is a bit stressed in kennels, can you find room for him?
Originally re-homed by us, Tilly a four year old Staffy x
JRT has had to come back due to circumstances changing that are no fault of her
own. A darling of girl she is a very sweet little lady who always has a smile on her face.
There are some more dogs due in this week from the pound, you can find updates when they arrive and have settled in by following Facebook & Twitter for the latest updates.
Special Plea
This week we are making a special plea for Shyla, we do not intend to do them all the time but we have had some un-lucky residents of late.
Shyla is a long termer now, approaching her ninth month in kennels at HWAR and has not had a great deal of interest.
A beautiful soul who has blossomed from a shy, nervous dog into an affectionate, cheeky and fun loving girl. Everyone at HWAR loves Shyla and knows what a wonderful dog she is, no-one can praise her enough. She has a particularly strong bond with our kennel manager Annie who was done so well to help bring Shyla on into the more confident and well-rounded dog that she is today.
Shyla is very contented with her life at HWAR but she would make a fantastic loyal companion and is ready and waiting for a chance for a home to call her own.
If you are interested in Shyla, read through her forum page, see what other have to say about her or come out and meet her, she is always ready to play up the play pen. VIDEO

Events
Coming Up
We will have a stall at the Whitecross Fun Day this Sunday
which is being held at Westfalling Street Top Park, if you are local to the
area come on down and see us as well as take in what the day has on offer.
Past Events
The Herefordshire Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club walk organised by Kelly and Rob Saunders was on the Sunday just passed, the sun shone and lots of people and waggy tails turned out to walk and the day raised a fantastic £138.76 split between HWAR & DDA Watch. Thank you both and everyone who turned out! See some pictures before the walk HERE
The Ledbury Carnival dog show on bank holiday Monday was cancelled due to the bad weather, which is a real shame. Hopefully we will be able to hold an event soon.
Fundraising
Only last week or so we launched an appeal for help refurbishing our tired office before the winter sets in, an amazing £800 has been raised which is above and beyond the call of duty. We are extremely grateful to all the supporters and can not thank you enough for such positive support.
Volunteer
If you would like to get involved at Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue, contact us to find out more details. The dogs are always ready and willing to go for a walk.
