Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue Xmas Update

It has been a short while since our last update, but it has been no less busy than usual as we run up to Christmas.

A HUGE thank you to all the festive generosity we have received recently. We have received hampers and donations from many and we can not thank you all enough for the support, not just now but all year round. We wish everyone a very happy Christmas from HWAR.

Thank you too all the people who answered our call for dog walkers recently. The dogs are all very grateful and have been getting lots of exercise, thank you to all of you.

If you would like to help out through the festive period then please do get in touch or drop in at a time that suits you.

Dogs Re-homed

Hattie & Stella were an adorable pairing who found themselves needing a new home due to their owners change in circumstances. They caught the heart and minds of everyone they met from day one and fortunately for them they have found a new home ready for Christmas.

Stella & Hattie

Mika, just four months old is a sweet little Staffie who has found a fresh start in life just in time for Christmas. She has made wonderful progress in her foster home and ready for permanent home she has a long life ahead of her.

Mika

Bella found her way back to HWAR recently as things were not quite working out for her in her old home. A loveable girl with plenty of character she did not spend a long time in kennels before finding a new forever home.

Bella

Little Jazzie, the pint sized terrier found a lovely new home with recent new walkers. She enjoyed going out on walks so much with her new owners and their terrier that they decided to take Jazzie home.

Jazzie

Jimmy the Staffie happily found a new home quickly. Missing his owners and in some distress Jimmy did not enjoy kennel life and endured a miserable time in kennels so it is great news Jimmy was snapped up so quickly.

Jimmy

The loveable and playful Swift found her way into a new in no time at all. A real character, Swift can charm you around in no time with her antics and loving nature. Great with other dogs she enjoyed her time playing with other dogs at HWAR and now she has a long life ahead of her to enjoying doing what she likes most.

Swift

Sweet little Daisy the Pointer has finally found her forever home. Just two years old and had a tough little start but she now has a loving home to call her own and was re-homed through our foster network.

Daisy

Poppy was a darling of a girl that enjoyed the company of other dogs and affection of all the people she met. She was quite a sight to see whizzing around the playpen, acceleration in abundance not even our Buddy could keep up with her. She has happily found a new home.

Poppy

Sophie, a Springer x Collie with a beautiful nature has left her foster mum for pastures new. A an all round beautiful dog Sophie caught the heart of her new family and finds her way into a new home for Christmas. She enjoyed a lovely time with her foster mum and now has a nice long life ahead of her.

Sophie

Since our last update, Amber and Beau the last of the Lurcher litter found their new home as well as many others, there were just too many to list since the last update! We have also seen quite a few dogs go through re-home from home with others still waiting for their chance.

Dogs In and Needing Homes

Sally has only recently joined us this week from the stray kennels but she has quickly become adored by all at HWAR. A sweet girl with a good temperament she will make a wonderful addition to a new family.

Sally

Young Ben was handed in recently due to a change in circumstances, just eight months old he is an adorable, playful Collie who adores people and other dogs and has the potential to be a magnificent dog. You certainly won't be disappointed if you come and meet Ben.

Ben

Tiny Darcy was handed in to us very recently. She has had a rough start to life so far, passed around five homes and she is only nine months old. A very small Staffie but she makes up for it with character and is a fun loving girl who loves people and other dogs.

Darcy

Buster, a young Golden Labrador just one year old was recently in to HWAR for re-homing and has spent time in foster care. Predictably Buster has already seen a lot of interest and has been reserved for a new home so this chap will be in his new home very soon.

Buster

An elderly JRT, Lucky came to us through the stray pound recently. After an appeal we found out some of her background and realised that the infamous Simon Jones was at work again, please remain vigilant of this character. This poor girl is a bit bewildered with things but is finding her feet in her foster home awaiting a new forever home.

Lucky

There were a few others to make their way into our care, you can view the full list of dogs in care with HWAR by viewing this forum link.

Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue Update

Thank you for tuning in to read about life at Meadowbank, a usual turn over of dogs at the kennel though quite a varied bunch! You just never know what is going to come through the door.

There is also information on events coming up at HWAR as well as the release of our new calendar.

Dogs Re-homed

Benny the Chinese Crested Dog, who had to have an operation to remove his eye has settled in nicely to his new home now he has recovered. An older chap at 10, it is great he has found a new home quickly where he can enjoy retirement!

Benny

Little PJ, a 12 week old Collie x Boxer was reserved as quick as he came in and has now gone happily off to his new home. A lovely young boy who will make a great addition to his new family.

PJ

Kennel favourite, Misek, who had to come back to HWAR after having some issues with neighbouring sheep has found another new home! This time it is for good as he is well out of sight of any sheep. A friendly loveable big boy with just as big a heart.

Misek

Dogs In and Needing Homes

Many of our followers will have seen Shilah on our Facebook page recently, abandoned by her previous owner as she was of little use at her old home. Thankfully, Shilah has another chance at a good home now she is with HWAR. A friendly girl, Shilah has quickly become a favourite at Meadowbank and she won't be long in waiting for a new home we are sure.

Shilah

An energetic little terrier, Cuba, has joined us from the stray pound. Cuba is certainly full of beans but is just lovely at heart and just craves your attention. She is a fun little girl who just wants to be everyone's best friend!

Cuba

Octavia, a Deerhound Lurcher type, joined us from the stray kennels also this week. A gorgeous looking girl and a nature to match, she has already been reserved after meeting her new family on the weekend and she will soon be off to start her new life.

Octavia

Tippy, 6 months old, was re-homed from a litter of GSD x Husky puppies at HWAR a couple of months back. Unfortunately for Tippy things have not worked out for her and she is back with us for re-homing. Currently in foster care Tippy is waiting for a new home to call her own.

Tippy

Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue Update

Another addition of our update and we are busy as usual. Take a look to see who has left HWAR and found their new home and who has joined the gang and looking for a new home.

Dogs Re-homed

Brock who we mentioned last week had found a foster home with a view to a permanent move has now signed the deal and has found his forever home. An affectionate little terrier who will be sure to keep his new owners on his toes.

Brock

Ponyo the Beagle was looking for a home to understand him and give him a chance he so desperately craved. Happily we can report he has found a new home where he can be part of a family as he needs.

Ponyo

Penny is an elderly JRT who was just looking for a home to relax and see out her later years at a steady pace curled up on someone's lap. She found a home quickly that suits her needs just perfect and will be able to chill with her new companions.

Penny

After watching his old pal Lola leave Meadowbank for her new home, Scooby has now found his new forever home. A beautifully natured Lurcher, Scooby will miss his old pals but he has a whole new life ahead of him to enjoy and he will be well loved as he used to.

Scooby

Dogs In

As many of our followers would have seen, this week we took in a very scared Kelpie x Border Collie who we have called Bob, who had been abandoned near the rescue centre. Whatever the divide in opinion our focus has been to get Bob moving forward and back on his feet. As a result Bob has been in a foster home and making great progress overcoming his fears. A nervous dog he still needs time to build his confidence but he is doing so every day. He loves children and women, but is fearful of men. He enjoys playtime and going out on walks and if he is not trying to get you to throw a ball he loves some attention and fuss!

Bob As Found
Bob In Foster
Frazer, now known as Scooby has come back to HWAR having been re-homed late last year. A beautiful cross breed he adores people and is a big softy who is desperate to be part of a new family.

Frazer / Scooby

Over from the pound this week we have Jazzie. A sweet little terrier mix who can be a bit timid she is probably around 2-3 years old. She seems nice and friendly so lets hope this pretty little girl is not waiting long for a home.

Jazzie

Daisy is a sweet, youg Terrier x who is full of love and just wants to live for your attention. The sweetest of natures she is a beautiful girl who will make a great addition to a family.

Daisy

Little PJ, just 11 weeks old, is a Collie x Boxer. He was looking for a new home through us having not been able to find a new home originally from his litter. Fortunately little PJ has be reserved to a new home and will soon have a long family life to look forward to.

PJ

Another to mention is that Misek has come back into HWAR after having a couple of altercations with some sheep. It will need to be a town house from now on for Misek as he just gets too excited when he has the chance to give chase to the sheep. A gorgeous big soppy dog he will fit in to the right home somewhere.

Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue Update 14th October

After a slightly quiet time in the kennels, as is often the case, we have found ourselves back at full capacity with many dogs coming in recently. Some have been 'Lucky' to find new homes quickly but there are still lots of guys and girls looking for a new home.

Dogs Re-homed

Isco recently went off to his home. He came in with his sister Nim and was not long in waiting to find his forever home after Nim was re-homed a week before him. A boisterous young fellow he will keep his new family busy but will prove very rewarding as this sweet boy is all heart.

Isco

The evergreen Lola has found a new home this after a visit on Sunday. Off to a home with a new companion she is sure to have a great life as she loves nothing more than the company of other dogs, and to push their patience with her antics! A beautiful playful girl who will be missed.

Lola

The handsome and equally lovely Misek came in from the stray pound only a week ago and has already found himself a new home. A gorgeous friendly big boy who was found abandoned tied up has no worries now looking forward as he settles into a new home.

Misek

Lucky the Lurcher found himself back in kennels recently after finding a new home not so long ago and true to name he has found himself a new home within days. Lucky had a bit too much to say over his food bowl but nothing that can not be cured as he goes on to pastures new.

Lucky
Rocco had been in foster care with HWAR for a couple of weeks and has recently found his new home. An adorable little JRT with a very sweet nature he has a new life ahead of him to enjoy.

Rocco

Dogs In & Dogs For Re-homing

Tasha a 2 year old Rottweiler x Lab has been with HWAR for a couple of weeks now settling in, still a big puppy at heart Tasha has a few challenges to work through but with the right direction she can be a fantastic dog.

Tasha

Meet Brock, a charming young Terrier x who came in via the stray pound with lots of love to give. What Brock lacks for in training he makes up for in enthusiasm and is a total sweetheart. Brock has gone onto foster and may just have found himself his forever home already.

Brock

Bronx is a very friendly 12 month old Staffie who is another to arrive recently through the stray pound. Poor Bronx has been messed around somewhat recently by some irresponsible and quite frankly negligible owners but he will have a better future ahead of him now. All heart Bronx has lots to give and will be a fantastic companion.

Bronx

The pretty young Benny, a Chinese Crested Dog joined us from the stray pen this week also. Benny has come in with a ruptured eye which has to be operated on and will have a foster home initially before he is ready to find his forever home. Around 10 years old Benny is looking for someone who he can settle with for his advancing years and enjoy a quiet life.

Benny

The lovely Penny, a 10 year old JRT is after a retirement home. A steady old girl she just wants to be a lapdog and find somewhere she curl up and relax and share her time with loving human companions.

Penny

Re-home From Home

Tosca is a gorgeous 3 year old Springer Spaniel who needs to find a new home as her owners are moving house and are unable to take Tosca with them. She would make a great addition to any family.

Tosca

Another who needs to find a new home is 6 month old Ponyo the Beagle. One of his main problems is seperation anxiety and he is most unhappy when left alone, this can be overcome but will take time. Ponyo has had 3 different homes in his short time and now he needs someone to stick with him and help him through his problems.

Ponyo

Special Mentions

Kane, who seemed to have a new home all sewn up has unfortunately found his dream move fall through and is now back up for re-homing. He has been in kennels now for 10 months and although he has become used to his surrounding he is a great age to start a new life and form a bond with a new family.

Wary of new people Kane has to have his confidence built up slowly with new people so anyone looking to home Kane will have to put time in with him, but, it is well worth the reward as once Kane trusts he is a fantastic dog, he just has to be allowed to move at his pace.

Find out more about Kane by reading his forum page.

Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue Update 23rd September 30th September

In what was appearing a relatively quiet week this week we were called to rescue a mother Lurcher and her litter on Sunday. They were in a sad and sorry state when we arrived to take them to HWAR. The mother, frail and weak from looking after her puppies was covered in mange and fleas and her five pups were not too much better and all undernourished. They were taken immediately to the vets and treated for their ailments and brought back to HWAR to recover. They are thankfully now making progress and coming on each day and will have only good times ahead of them from here.

It is deeply saddening to find defenseless animals in such a state as the result of the actions of cruel human beings and even more so in knowing little can be done about it.

For all her clearly bad experiences, Hope, as we have called her, was still so trusting and kindly regardless of her situation, just showing how unconditional these beings are.

Thank you for everyone who has shown support for hope and her litter this weekend and rest assured they are all on the way to recovery and are safe with a better life ahead of them.

Dogs Re-homed

The gorgeous young Nim has gone off to her new home this week. A 12 month old Huskey x Labrador, Nim was handed in a long with her brother Isco recently and was not long waiting for a new home finding herself reserved the same day she arrived. A real character she has a nice new life ahead of her with her new family and will certainly keep her family entertained.

Nim

Dogs In

There have not been many dogs to come in this week. Cole, a Labrador X who was orignally re-homed has found his way back to meadow bank after a change to his owners circumstances. Be sure to check our forum and website to see him listed soon.

Dogs Needing Homes
