Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue Update 9th - 23rd September

Just for a change we have had a relatively quiet time of homing the last couple of weeks. We have been really busy in the last couple of months with dogs coming in and out and lots of interest in re-homing so it is only a good thing when there are less to come in from the stray pound.

Dogs Re-homed

Firstly this week Barney went off to a new home after a rough time of it over the last couple of months. Having been parted from his owner and not quite fitting into a new home, Barney was in need of a new forever home. We are delighted Barney has found a new home where he can relax and feel settled and safe again.

Sally (Gracie) the Border Collie x Bearded Collie starts a new life this week. She joins a family including two other dogs which will be great for this super friendly girl. Sally came into kennels very nervous and aloof of people having been found stray rounding up sheep, but she has slowly started to learn to trust and having started to build up her confidence she is ready for the next step in her life. Good luck Sally.

Little Patches found a new home in quick time just recently. This little Jack Russel Terrier had a tough few days before being signed over to HWAR but he is now settled in a new home and is a happy little boy.

A recent hand in that was re-homed quickly was Fred the Basset Fauve de Bretagne. Fred's owner passed away recently and the family took the difficult decision to re-home Fred. He has joined a new family where he struck up a strong bond with the family already and is a happy boy in his new home.

Darcy a chocolate Labrador came in as part of a four strong crew along with Scooby, Ellie and Lola and she has now moved into a lifetime foster home. Never easy to break up a group of dogs but Darcy has happily settled into a new environment and is just hoping now her other pals Scooby and Lola can find new homes now.

In and out very quickly recently was a seven year old black Labrador called Mika. Mika was in and out so quickly we barely had time to get a snap! A steady lad with a nice nature he has great times ahead of him now.

Dogs In & Looking For Homes

A lovely young pair that have come into HWAR recently is Nim and Isco, brother and sister Labrador x Husky's just 12 months old. Nim has been reserved after meeting a new family and Isco looks to have a home lined up already also so great news for them both to find homes so quickly. Lovely young dogs with nice natures they have a nice future ahead of them.

Two dogs specially in need of a home at the moment are Scooby and Lola. Many of you will know Jenny and Liam, two of our charities trustees. Tragically a few weeks ago Jenny suffered a major stroke and she and Liam have had to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome some of the dogs.

Scooby (Lurcher) and Lola (American Bulldog x Staffy) are now searching for a new home and are ready to leave kennels where they can enjoy being in a family again. They are both around 7 years old and will make a fantastic addition to any family. Please consider Scooby and Lola.

Though the kennels are quiet at the moment we still have some long stayers.

Buddy & Fabian in kennels are waiting patiently for someone to come and meet them and Charlie is still in foster having been with HWAR for nearly a year!
